Thailand mulls recruiting Bollywood stars to lure more Indian tourists

THAILAND is looking to use a star-studded Bollywood lineup to boost the number of Indian tourist arrivals into the country.

Citing a report by Daily NewsCoconuts Bangkok quoted Tourism Minister Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul as saying the ministry is preparing to hire Bollywood stars to promote Thailand’s tourist attractions.

The minister also said the move was aimed at drawing high-spending tourists from southern India.

The move comes as the ministry set a target to increase the number of Indian tourists from 1.2 million to two million per year.
