IN a bid to showcase the “real” Singapore, the “world’s first vintage Vespa sidecar tour service” was recently launched in the island nation.
The tour includes zipping around town in the sidecar of a vintage Vespa past heritage sites, stopping for cheap eats, and exploring art hubs in areas that include Kampong Glam, Baghdad Street, and Sultan Gate. You can book into 30- or 60-minute tours, and all riders are experienced and licensed.
Tours are separated into your area of choice: architecture/social studies, sports/adventure, food/drinks/entertainment, culture/heritage, nature/outdoors/conservation, and arts/design.
There’s also a custom “night makan” and pub trail that allows travelers to sample over 10 Singaporean dishes and party or drink with the locals. Other customized tours can also be arranged, ideal for MICE or incentive groups.
Sideways was birthed by entrepreneur Simon Wong who joined forces with Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and vintage Vespa retailer Triquetra Sidecar Experiences to materialize this project.
