Flight makes emergency landing after woman rages at ‘cheating’ husband

A Bali-bound flight from Doha, Qatar was forced to make an emergency landing after a woman passenger went into a mid-air rage over her husband’s alleged affair with another woman.

According to the Times of India, the Qatar Airways flight diverted the plane the Chennai, India, on Nov 5, after the woman got into a fight with her husband and misbehaved with crew members who tried to calm her down.

Sources said the Iranian woman unlocked her sleeping husband’s mobile phone by putting his finger on the scanner, revealing details of his alleged infidelities.

As crew members struggled to calm the woman down, who reportedly had a few drinks prior to the fit, the pilot decided to land the plane in Chennai, where the Iranian couple and their child were offloaded before the flight resumed its journey to Bali.

The family was kept at the Chennai Airport where authorities confirmed there was no security issue. They were later put on a flight to Kuala Lumpur to take a connecting flight back to Doha.

“On Nov 5, at about 10 am, Qatar Airways flight QR-962 (Doha-Bali) was diverted to Chennai,” a Central Industrial Security Force official said when confirming the case of the unruly passenger.

“A lady along with her husband and a child, all Iranian nationals, were offloaded by the airline as the lady passenger (who was intoxicated) misbehaved with crew members inflight.They were sent to Kuala Lumpur by Batik Air flight 6019 for further travel to Doha.”

In a statement, Qatar Airways said: “In respect of passenger privacy, we do not comment on individual cases.”
