Pole to pole in 88 days: Special cruise treat for Chinese travelers
ULTRA-LUXURY cruise line Silversea Cruises is branching into the Chinese market, teaming up with the country’s leading luxury travel brand, HH Travel, to create the ultimate cruising experience – pole-to-pole luxury.
The collaboration will see the pair co-launch the ambitious voyage, complete with unique catering services tailored specifically to Chinese travelers and their unique expectations for luxury travel and high-quality service.
“We are delighted to work closely with HH Travel, a renowned name in the luxury travel space in China, and to bring our collaboration one step further through the co-launch of this voyage,” Amber Wilson, GM for Asia Pacific Silversea Cruises, told Travel Daily Asia.
“We are always looking for opportunities to enhance our services and provide tailor-made experiences. HH Travel has been an ideal partner in this endeavor, and in our vision to offer an unforgettable cruise experience to our friends from China.”
As part of the initiative to make travelers feel comfortable and at home, the ship will come complete with Mandarin-speaking staff and a Chinese cuisine service to avoid any clash of cultures in the kitchen. Nineteen experts are also on-board throughout the voyage, so guests have the opportunity to appreciate and experience the wonders of the natural habitat surrounding them.
The newly refurbished ship, known as Silver Cloud, will begin its pole-to-pole journey in September 2018, taking in four continents in 88 days, and covering 10,800 nautical miles through the Arctic, North America, South America and finally, the Antarctic. That’s 64 ports in total, over 17 countries, across some of the most striking landscape on the planet.
For the full pole-to-pole experience, guests will need to pay out a pricey CNY888,000 (US$132,500) – however, only 10 rooms are available for this truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
