As part of the initiative to make travelers feel comfortable and at home, the ship will come complete with Mandarin-speaking staff and a Chinese cuisine service to avoid any clash of cultures in the kitchen. Nineteen experts are also on-board throughout the voyage, so guests have the opportunity to appreciate and experience the wonders of the natural habitat surrounding them.

The newly refurbished ship, known as Silver Cloud, will begin its pole-to-pole journey in September 2018, taking in four continents in 88 days, and covering 10,800 nautical miles through the Arctic, North America, South America and finally, the Antarctic. That’s 64 ports in total, over 17 countries, across some of the most striking landscape on the planet.

For the full pole-to-pole experience, guests will need to pay out a pricey CNY888,000 (US$132,500) – however, only 10 rooms are available for this truly once-in-a-lifetime adventure.
