This Thai resort is the best place in the world to get married
WITH its stretches of white sand, private plunge pools and jaw-dropping vistas, it’s perhaps no surprise that InterContinental Samui Baan Taling Ngam Resort was named World’s Leading Wedding Resort for the fourth year in a row.
The resort beat out other luxury destinations – namely Fiji, Mauritius and Bali – to take the top prize at this year’s World Travel Awards.
It also scooped up the award for Asia’s Leading Beach Resort and Asia’s Most Romantic Resort 2017, as well as being crowned Thailand’s Leading Resort for the fifth time.
A favorite among honeymooners, this Koh Samui resort is famous for its unspoiled charm and stunning nature backdrops.
Its wedding location can hold up to 200 guests in a private beachfront pier. There’s even an option to walk the aisle on a transparent stage atop an infinity pool.
If you want to host your wedding there, it’ll set you back at least THB178,000 (US$5,450) to rent four villas for the night. This package includes rental of the grass lawn, wedding decorations and a celebratory bottle of champagne.
If you’re looking for a more intimate experience with just the two of you, you can combine your wedding with a honeymoon and stay on at the hotel once you’ve exchanged vows. The Intimate Affair Package costs THB110,000 (US$3,370) during the high season and includes a romantic sunset dinner and a couple’s massage at Baan Thai Spa.
Not planning on getting married? That’s alright, as the resort offers a plethora of other activities, such as Thai cooking classes, dolphin watching and even a private breakfast cruise in the turquoise waters of Koh Samui.
