The restaurant serves Western and Indonesian fare, with plenty of attention given to presentation.
Guests enjoy plenty of pampering and privacy on one of the finest stretches of white-sand beach in Bali. The rooms are beautifully decorated, and they come fully equipped with satellite television, air conditioning, oversized beds and 220-thread-count sheets.
And the open-air bathrooms are particularly stunning. They offer private views over the sea and even include stone-basin bathtubs.
There is a day lounge at the resort open to all guests. It is air-conditioned and features a library, Internet stations, a plasma TV and DVD player. An onsite fitness center is also available for use. But the main resort attraction is Lulur Spa, which offers a full menu of wellness treatments and massage packages.
Even more activities are available off-resort. The island was originally developed with surfers in mind, due to the fantastic breakers off of the west coast. Scuba diving is also excellent offshore of both this island and neighboring Nusa Penida.
When Batu Karang Resort was built on the island of Nusa Lembongan, it was in a class all of its own. Since then, it has been joined by other resort operations, but it still occupies what has to be the most enviable stretch of hillside real estate on the island.
Luxury furnishings, five-star service and an acclaimed day spa frame the experience. There are no large motor vehicles on the island, though you can rent a scooter if you want to explore the island. The resort blankets a hillside, and some of the finest views are from the top.
Climbing the hill to your room can be daunting, especially when you’re poolside in the throes of relaxation. Luckily, electric golf carts are on hand to shuttle you to and from your guest room.
The resort offers full facilities, including three swimming pools, a fitness center, an Asian-Western fusion restaurant and a day lounge. Off-property, the major pastime was once surfing, which still maintains a major following. However, fishing, scuba diving and snorkeling have also taken off in recent years.
“The views from every part of the resort and villas are breathtaking. The food was perfect every time, we only ate at the resort restaurant and cafe as there was so many things we wanted to try. Batu Karang is the best resort we have ever stayed in and we will definitely be coming back.” Jess4809,Perth, Australia
“From the moment we arrived till the moment we left we felt like royalty, the staff were always there but seemed to be 'invisible' if you get my meaning. I could not fault one thing except our stay was not long enough. Highly recommended.” BaliLover65, Perth, Australia
“We cannot thank the brilliant staff enough for making our honeymoon a wonderful and memorable experience. We will definitely be back and cannot wait to be sitting at Muntigs Restaurant having breakfast and staring out over the beautiful Bay, soaking in the beauty of Nusa Lembongan!” Tiffany4567, Sunshine Coast, Australia
