AFTER SEEING POTENTIAL in growing its Trips feature, Airbnb is now dipping its limbs in music events and concerts.

Yes, concerts.

With over three million listings and a presence in 65,000 cities in over 191 countries, the home-sharing platform has been pushing its boundaries to cast its net wider.

The company launched Trips, its foray into tours and activities, in 2016 and since then, nightlife has been one of the fastest-growing Experience categories.

Its success compelled Airbnb to roll out Airbnb Concerts, offering a variety of intimate, bespoke, sometimes “secret” live music events in unconventional venues, ranging from recording studios to cathedrals to wine cellars.

Guests can get up close and personal with their favorite musicians in surprise venues that even locals don’t know about.

Currently, Airbnb Concerts is available in 25 cities around the world, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, London, Tokyo, Amsterdam, Paris, and Sydney. However, Airbnb is working hard at adding hundreds of concerts in line with its goal to be in 50 cities and have 20,000 people booking Airbnb Concerts each month before the year ends.

To give Airbnb Concerts a little boost, the company has partnered with multi-Grammy-award-winning artist John Legend.

In conjunction with the release of Legend’s new single, A Good Night, both Airbnb and Legend have curated a collection of Airbnb nightlife experiences inspired by the song.

One experience includes an intimate concert with the singer himself.

On the listing, it’s stated the event is hosted by Legend himself.

“I’m an artist, husband, and father. I recently had the chance of a lifetime to perform in NBC’s Jesus Christ Superstar. Outside the stage and studio, I’m passionate about social activism,” Legend wrote.

“To celebrate the beginning of summer and the release of my new single, on June 21st, I’m sharing with you my version of “A Good Night” – a truly intimate concert with some good friends and great wine from my Legend Vineyards Exclusive collection in a breathtaking Los Angeles venue.”

Tickets are going for US$200 a pop, released in waves. The last 15 tickets will go on sale June 11, 2018.
