TAIWAN is synonymous with night markets bursting with activities as it is its most iconic nightlife scene, with Shilin Night Market taking the top spot in rankings because it is a favorite among locals and travelers alike.

The area where Shilin Night Market is located used to be a trading spot for agricultural product exports but it has since become a must-visit destination for foodies with a penchant for snacking until late into the night.

Shilin Night Market boasts more than 500 stores dotted in and around one main food hall as well as the streets surrounding the area.

The stores offer a plethora of street snacks such as bubble tea (boba), fried chicken steak, stinky bean curd (which you can smell from a couple of feet away, just follow your nose), a variety of meat skewers, warm pepper pork bun, oyster vermicelli, and more.

It is all the vibrant colors and tantalizing flavors of Taiwan all in one place.

And now, one space activation company is planning to bring the experience to Southeast Asia. To be precise, the island city-state of Singapore.

Invade, a Singapore-based event planner is introducing a Shilin Night Market pop-up for the first time.

For the uninitiated, Invade has previously hosted Artbox Singapore and Artbox Malaysia, a concept based on a weekend night market in Bangkok where stalls are housed in giant metal shipping containers which can be moved around the city.

This version of Shilin Night Market will let you experience a taste of Taiwan with elements of local twist (with the help of local vendors) in the north of Singapore.

Fans can expect a wide variety of Taiwanese and Singaporean street delicacies, creative eats, pop up artisan stores, arcade games, and even movie screenings, as Shilin Night Market will be the most anticipated pop-up market of the year.

So be sure to go with a big appetite for all things fun and food.
